As a Spanish teacher living in Toronto, I’m always looking for opportunities for my students and the people interested in Hispanic culture, to always find different ways to expand their learning and communication skills. Something that it is inevitabi;ly happening is the use of English words in our language.
Millions of Spanish pople live and are born in English speaking countries. This makes Spanglish happening. In my opinion, one thing is to have a bad use of English words in Spanish, Another thing, is to use words that we cannot translate them. We use them as part of idiosincrasy.
Here are my favourite and usefull English words that Spanish uses as its own. Keep in mind that when we are pronouncing them use the Spanish phonetic.
