Another way to improve your language skills is reading. Depending on your level, you might approach the suitable book that will help you learn vocabulary, understand grammar in context and practice in a fan way.

As a Spanish teacher, I recommend you to always read out loud, so you can use all the sensors at the same time to help you build your brain muscle, the one that makes you connect and ratain the language you are learning.

What we read, say and write in Spanish is the same. That’s the easiest part of learning and grasping this language. We have 5 vowls and we have 5 sounds, that will never change. The fonetic, rhythm and sound of Spanish language, according to Carla Soto, Spanish teacher based in Toronto rests on the vowls.

My recommendations for reading in Spanish:

If you are a Beginner, read texts that are on most Spanish Beginers text books or find books for Spanish Beginners learners, like Easy Spanish Reader by William. T Tardy. Also Read & Think Spanish by Mc Graw Hill (My favourite North American book publisher for Spanish learners). Duolingo App has a good reading session.

If you are an Intermediate, I suggest to read synopsis of news articles and Children Literature.

If you are an Advance student, Historias Breves para leer nivel Pricipiante, Intermedio y Avanzado, de Joaquin Masoliver. Also, the collection of detectives stories Lola Lagos Detective.

At any level, I advise to reaad the instructions you find in any item you buy at the store (toys, tools, food, medicine, devices).
