As a Spanish teacher, providing language lessons in Toronto, I always look for opportunities for my students to not just learn the language, aslo our culture. In most contries of Latinamerica and Spain celebrate New Year’s Eve following these traditions, All to wish for a better year full of hope, happiness, luck and health.
Here ar the traditions
- Sweep the house (for good energy and health).
- Go with a suitcase outside the house at 12 am (for travelling).
- Wear yellow underwear (for good luck).
- Eat 12 grapes at 12 am for 12 wishes for the new year.
- Eat lentils (for having money).
- Ligh candles (for having wealth, food and properity).
I picked the ones from Venezuela and its neighbours countries!
